is Phishing for Your Information?
There’s a new type of internet
piracy called "phishing" (pronounced "fishing").

personal information. They’re looking for ways to trick
you into giving out your Social Security Number, credit card
number and other personal information that they can use to
their advantage. You could become a victim of identity theft
and it could take years to clear your financial history and
personal reputation. But understanding how these internet
thieves work, will help you to protect yourself from having
your identity stolen.
What
is the Difference Between a Credit Union and a Bank?

to most people. They both offer deposit accounts and various

banking, online banking and ATMs; but there are some major
differences between the two. If you’re wondering where
to turn for your next personal loan or aren’t sure where

between a credit union and a bank.

cemetery ledgers into the digital age. The effort will make
the collection—predominantly of Civil War interments—accessible

VA’s Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs Steve L. Muro.
Getting
things done and stop procrastinating
Procrastination
is not a sign of "laziness" but it is a way to avoid
dealing with insecurities and limitations. There may be several
reasons why people procrastinate while doing things, maybe
we are doing things that we do not like doing or they not
interest us. Either way here are some useful tips on how to
get things done fast and stop procrastinating.
Create
Greater Success with Effective Goal Setting
It’s relatively easy to set your
goals, even if you have never done it or not done it much
before. You start by breaking down a broad mission a dream
into workable smaller parts. You begin by writing down your
broad mission and dream goals so you can create goals today
that will put you on the path of achieving these long-range
goals. Put a specific date by each goal that represents when
you would like to have it achieved. The more short-term goals
you create, the better, because it will fill you with more
confidence as you achieve them on your road to even greater
success.
Tips
for Managing a Long Distance Relationship
Nowadays,
with more and more people relocating for work or studies,
it is really not uncommon for couples to be together from
afar. While managing a long distance relationship is no easy
feat, weathering the distance can be easier if you try to
talk as often as possible and arrange regular meetings.

When
an Emergency Strikes, Disaster Survival Gear Saves Lives
It's easy to get lulled into a sense
of complacency when it comes to emergency preparedness. It's
difficult to face the reality that disaster could strike close
to home, even though we've witnessed the devastation that
comes from disasters like Hurricane Katrina, the Asian tsunami,
the tornado that flattened a Kansas town, and terrorist attacks
like those on 9/11. The unfortunate truth is that earthquake,
fire, flood, and storms can cause injuries, death, and destruction.
More importantly - and more hopefully - much of the unbearable
heartache and loss associated with disasters can be avoided
with the proper disaster survival gear.
Family
Dinners Essential to Communication
You've heard the research. You
know that establishing the habit of sitting down together
for dinner as a family is critical to building and maintaining
healthy communication with your children. But then you look
at your calendar and wonder how in the world you can make
time to squeeze in a family dinner every night.
Intelligent
Optimism Wins In Today's World
The
reality of today's world seems to leave little room for optimism.
Almost every news story can lead because it does bleed. We
hear of critical food shortages in Africa, daily gang deaths
on city streets, the profiteering from child pornography,
and the climatic disasters prompted by global warming. Health
care costs move up faster than a hummingbird in flight and
more children now spout profanities as a regular part of speech.
With such negativity, no wonder a 2004 U.S. government survey
found that depression afflicts one in 10 adults 14 days a
month or more.

How to Reconnect
VA
has decided to try a new path when it comes to caring for
and healing the nation’s wounded Veterans. Now, in addition
to repairing their damaged bodies and minds, the Department
is attempting to go one step further and repair their crumbling
marriages. Or at least try to.
“Research shows that 70 percent of our combat Veterans
are experiencing marital problems,” said VA Chaplain
Ron Craddock. “Twenty percent of them decide to divorce
before they even return from theatre. This is staggering.
The toll on the individual Veteran is staggering. The toll
on the family is staggering.”
The Importance of Having a
Strong Core
When it comes to
getting into shape and staying healthy there are many things
you need to take into consideration and work on. One very
important part of fitness that many haven't really paid attention
to is core strength and stability. If you don't know what
it is then don't worry, as you are not alone. If you go to
your gym right now and ask 5 people what it is, I'm sure most
of them will be clueless. Because the whole idea of core strength
has become really popular fitness magazines and websites are
full of articles giving advice on developing the stability
and strength of the core muscles.
Forgiving
Yourself and Others
At
some point in our lives, all of us have been wronged by another
person and felt hurt, angry or resentful. This is a natural
reaction and part of being human. However, if we do not resolve
or come to terms with these hurts, they drive our actions
and create a negative way of life. By harboring past hurts,
we have the potential to do far more harm to ourselves than
anyone else can possibly do.
Medicinal
Values of Green Tea
Green
tea is believed to be in use as a medicine for at least 4000
years in china. It is also believed that green tea lowers
the cholesterol levels by increasing the good cholesterol
and decreasing the bad cholesterol. Green tea is rich in antioxidant
called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) .It destroys cancer
cells and also inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Even though
the French people consume diet rich in fat, they are less
prone to heart attack than the Americans. Similarly, even
though 75 percent of the Japanese are smokers, they are less
affected. This is because EGCG is more in green tea used by
them. It acts as a protective agent against premature death
from heart attack and cancer.

If you like, you can accompany this with breathing techniques
as well. This will help you to achieve a sense of serenity
but it can take quite a lot of time before you are able to

Filing For Bankruptcy As A Military
Veteran
As service members who have fought for the freedom and protection
of our nation, veterans are owed a debt we can never repay.
For their loyal service, veterans are allotted many benefits

Children Hungry for War
When your children
are hungry you take the free food even if you don't believe
the political story that goes with it. The current administration
promised them better times because they were on their side

the previous administration wasn't.
U.S. military rings for specialized
units
There are many specialized units in the United States military.
While most people can name a half a dozen or so even if they
haven't served in the military, there are actually hundreds
of these specialized units. The Navy Seals, the Army's 82nd
Airborne, the Marine Snipers, and the Air Force Paratroopers
are well known specialized units. Many of these units are
so specialized that seventy to eighty percent of all who start
the training do not finish. It really takes a unique person
to be a part of such a close knit group of military members.
Memorial
Day History
Three years after the Civil War ended, on
May 5, 1868, the head of an organization of Union veterans
— the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) — established
Decoration Day as a time for the nation to decorate the graves
of the war dead with flowers. Maj. Gen. John A. Logan declared
that Decoration Day should be observed on May 30. It is believed
that date was chosen because flowers would be in bloom all
over the country.

Four months later, Goldsmith enlisted in the United States

just that the entire culture of the Army is so much different
than the Marines.

Two deserving charities which accept cars for donation
are The Salvation Army and The Military Order of the Purple
Heart Service Foundation (known simply as Purple Heart). Donating
a car to a charitable organization benefits the donor in several
ways. The most obvious advantage to the person who gives his/her
car to a charity is the tax deduction; however, donating a
car has other benefits.
Custom Dog Tags
When people think of dog tags, they usually picture
a member of the military and the identification that hangs
around their neck. These dog tags hold information about the
service person, which branch of the military he or she is
in and information that tells others which unit the person
belongs to. These personalized Military ID tags are often
given by members of the service to their children and loved
ones and can often become family heirlooms.

Care
Packages for American Soldiers
Have you ever wanted to send a soldier
a package, but you just cannot decide what they need or would
even want? It is actually very simple. All of their must-
haves are provided for them. All they really need is stuff
for their leisure time. As a soldier's wife I have sent many
of these packages, not only to my husband but other soldiers
in his unit. They always say to send beef jerky!

Personal Safety Tips
I'm Sergeant Lazo and I can tell you that from the first day
you set foot at the MEPS station (Military Entrance Processing
Station) until the last day in the Military, Safety is non-negotiable.
Safety comes first in our line of work because lives are at
stake. The same principles we are taught directly correlate
to civilian life. Allow me to put forth the military principles
under the letter M, civilian principles under the letter C
and attacker principles under the letter A.
Soldiers & Veterans Want
To Be Noticed
A great gulf exists between American military and civilian
societies. But paradoxically, it can be hard to tell young
veterans of our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from their peers
who haven't served. As I wrote a book about West Point recently,
I would visit with vets who had left the Army and were attending
some of America's most prestigious universities. I was struck
that the veterans were often the ones walking around campus
with the longest hair, and the most stylish clothes.
